Hairomega (was maxahair) review - Hair Loss Treatment

The Active Ingredients of Hairomega (was Maxahair) for Effective Hair Loss treatment

Hairomega (was Maxahair)The Supplement Facts label on Hairomega DHT (was Maxahair DHT) bottle shows 200mg of 40-45% saw palmetto extract which work out to be between 80mg to 90mg of fatty acids and phytosterols found in the extract. This is a good indication of a high quality saw palmetto extract. In addition, with 300mg of beta-sitosterol, the supplement provides a good strength to inhibit the production of dihydrotestosterone or DHT, which is a big plus for effective hair loss treatment.

Besides saw palmetto and beta-sitosterol, there are other DHT inhibitors present in the Hairomega (was Maxahair) formulation. Such as Pygeum Africanum, Green Tea, Stinging Nettles and Broccoli, this collectively enhances the DHT blocking function.

The Active Ingredients in the Proprietary Blend for ?

Again, Hairomega has both the active enhancer and the passive ingredients that support circulation and provide the needed nutrients for healthy hair growth.

The Proprietary Blend of this natural hair loss treatment product is a hefty 142mg, consisting of,

  • Quercetin Dihydrate has the function of suppressing the effects of DHT on hair follicles with androgen receptors.
  • Essential oils derived from Juniper Berry help relieve toothache and build stronger gum, also commonly used in hair care products that are formulated for hair loss treatment.
  • Buchu leaf is a South African wonder herb with various medicinal properties from urinary tract infection relief to reducing high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Hairomega (Formerly known as Maxahair) uses it for promoting blood circulation, removes toxin found around the hair follicles, and supply the, much needed nutrients to nourish and strengthen the hair follicles.
  • The phytosterols in the Pumpkin seed powder has an impact on testosterone metabolism in males, through their interactions with the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. According to a study published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry in December 1998, titled “Phytosterol feeding induces alteration in testosterone metabolism in rat tissues,” phytosterols can inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, and in theory, is able to reduce the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.
  • Also rich in phytosterols, Burdock root oil have been a favorite scalp treatment herb for centuries. Burdock root oil extract, or Bur oil, is popularly use to promote healthy hair, relieve irritation and improve scalp conditions. It helps to get rid of scalp itching, redness, dandruff and help to strengthen hair and give it the shine and body. Burdock root oil has been traditionally used to reduce and reverse hair thinning. A must-have ingredient for effective hair loss treatment.
  • Gravel root, Marshmallow root, Parsley and the rest of the ingredients, which according to Hairomega’s (was Maxahair) maker, are carefully researched and put into Hairomega (was Maxahair) to aid circulation and combat malnutrition.

Does Hairomega (was Maxahair) Really Work?

Hairomega 3 in 1Even the FDA approved prescription for hair loss treatment does not claim to work 100% on every male with male pattern baldness. So based on the known cause and treatment mechanism of male pattern baldness, we should look at what are the active ingredients and their respective strength and proportion.

We have seen the Supplement Facts and are satisfied that, Hairomega (was Maxahair) has the right ingredients that inhibit the formation of DHT that miniaturizes hair follicles. It contains the right dosage of high quality saw palmetto extract, beta-sitosterol, pygeum, broccoli, pumpkin seed, burdock root, as well as ingredients that help in circulation and provide the needed nutrients for healthy hair growth.

Simply put, Hairomega has all the traits of a great hair loss treatment product in terms of reasonable pricing and generous in high quality ingredients.

Is Hairomega (was Maxahair) a Good Hair Loss Treatment for Women?

DHT production is not limited to men, in fact women too has the same tendency to produce a fair amount of DHT from the little testosterone present in their body. Wayward fluctuation of testosterone level can happen in women as a result of stress, menstruation and menopause. This can cause an increase in testosterone to DHT conversion, leading to an unwanted increase in DHT level that has been identified as the main cause of hair follicle miniaturization. The DHT inhibiting natural ingredients in Hairomega has been proven to help in reducing the conversion of testosterone significantly, and in sustaining hormonal balance. As long as miniaturization of the hair follicles do not take place, hair loss can be reduced or prevented. Hence, Hairomega is also an effective hair loss treatment for women.

Hairomega is available in 2 formula; Hairomega DHT Blocker and Hairomega 3-in-1

I know i should take Hairomega 3 in 1 three times per day, after meals. Right? Should i take the capsules with water? or not?
    Thanks

  • Lance

Martin, thanks for all the replies they are very helpful. I’ve been reading on the side and followed your advice. It has been 5 months now I’m on hairomega and I’m happy with the results. :)

  • Kiel

Just thought I would give my two cents on the product.

Started in Jan 2012,-current. Decided to do a quick study on it.

At 0-4wks noticed less hair following out. Nothing substantial.
4-12 wks. Increase in hair loss. worried a little.
12-16wks. hair appeared slightly thicker. Faster growth rates. no new hair on hairline.Noticed that more hair started to grow on chest arms and legs. Average hair on rest of body grew by about 2mm-4mm.
17-20, clear visible hair began to grow on hair line. Started very fine, gradually grew bigger. (had a haircut).
20-current. Hair grew much faster than normally. Have hair going foreword by about an inch on all regions of frontal hairline.
About 10-15% more hair on rest of body as well. hair appears fuller on head.

    Going to continue treatment.

    • Martin

Hi Kiel thanks very much for sharing your experience. I’m sure it’ll be useful for others who are still contemplating to even try. :)

    • Khai

I’ve been on Hairomega 3 in 1 for 3 weeks.. There’s increase in shedding. How bad was your shedding phase?

      • Martin

        Hi Khai,

Consume it for at least 3 months to see results. If the shedding persist, even after 2 months, you may want to consult a dermatologist. It could be a medical condition. If you feel otherwise, make sure you keep your scalp clean by washing your hair daily with a good shampoo. Try to avoid oily food, particularly those of high cholesterol and supplements that could boost your testosterone level.

  • Roger

I’m very sorry, but after 2 months of using Hairomega 3 in 1, I didn’t noticed any results. No new hair, nothing. So it does not work.

    • Martin

Hi Roger. It’s only 2 months too early to spot any noticeable results. Even if you go for the FDA approved Propecia, you may see results probably after 3 months. And also depending on your expectation, but I’d say it is not realistic to expect a full reversal. I hope that’s not what you are expecting or else you are set for more disappointment.

  • Jon

    Yes,
I noticed hair growth on chest, nose, around belly button etc. As far as what on the crown of my head, Not really. What’s back there is really thin and fine. The thinning area is expanding. On the other hand if I stop I might lose it at a faster pace. However, when used consistly, looks like there’s less in the strainer.

  • Jason

    Hi There,

I have been taking hairomega DHT for two weeks now and have noticed some ‘shedding’ when I run my hand through my hair – is this normal?

Also I take it 3x per day – is that ok.

My hair never used to shed – I just have thin hair on my cowlick in the vertex. Is it better for this area?

    • Martin

Hi Jason, 2 weeks is too short to see any improvement. Noticeable results start after 3 months, based on experience. But in the first place if you are not shedding, why the need to take hairomega? You need to identify is your thin hair a result of male pattern hair loss?

  • Jason

My hair has become noticeably thinner in the vertex…….. Is shedding normal with hairomega?

    • Martin

It varies. If you read through the comments here, you will find some people shed some hairs when they started with Hairomega, but later stop and see new growth.

  • martha

I’m a woman. Will I go hair where I don’t want it? And if I stop using it will my hair shed like when you stop using rogain

    • Martin

Hi Martha, Hairomega works to inhibit the DHT that is causing hair thinning on the scalp and reverse or minimize the effects of DHT. It is very unlikely that you will experience new hair growth on other areas other than those you already have hairs on.

If without any condition like thyroid or telogen effluvium, usually you will start to shed gradually after about 3 months after you stop taking it.
